Barcelona’s injury crisis continues to punish them, with the news that another of their forwards has been ruled out of their home clash with Girona. Hansi Flick will only be able to call on youngster Roony Bardghji and Marcus Rashford for the full 90 minutes at Montjuic.
The German coach lost Robert Lewandowski for the next month earlier this week, and explained that while Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal were back from injury, they would not be fit to go for the full 90 minutes. They lighten an injury list that also features Gavi, Raphinha and Dani Olmo.
Ferran Torres ruled out of Girona clash
Despite Spain manager Luis de la Fuente saying that Ferran Torres did not have an injury before he was sent home from international duty, the ex-Valencia man did not train on Thursday or Friday. Barcelona have announced that Torres will miss the clash with Girona due to a hamstring strain. He is still expected to return in time for El Clasico next weekend.

Meanwhile Girona are dealing with an injury crisis of their own, with defender Alejandro Frances being ruled out for six weeks, as confirmed by Marca. He joins another six players unavailable for this clash, with Azzedine Ounahi, Donny van de Beek, Thomas Lemar, David Lopez and Juan Carlos all out with injury. Midfielder Ivan Martin is suspended due to a red card in their win over Valencia before the break. The good news for Michel Sanchez is that winger Joel Roca is back after returning from the under-20 World Cup.

Barcelona youngster could get second chance under Hansi Flick
The injury issues at Barcelona could see young midfielder Dro Fernandez given a second chance by Flick, after making his debut three games ago against Real Sociedad. Dro struggled to make an impact and was taken off at half-time, but Flick has shown plenty of faith in the 17-year-old since taking him on their preseason tour to Asia this summer.
