Manchester United Are Eager To Recruit This La Liga Attacker: Good Option For Amorim?

In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester United are eager to recruit Athletic Bilbao attacker Oihan Sancet. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Spanish playmaker to Old Trafford next year.

Sancet’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football

Sancet has made a decent start to this campaign as he has put in a few eye-catching displays for the Spanish side in the final third. The Spanish talent has found the back of the net once in eight appearances for the La Liga club this season across multiple competitions.

The 25-year-old has caught the eye at times in the opponent’s half based on his average of 2.20 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 25% of his attempts on target. Sancet has also been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 82.8% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2032. Thus, it won’t be easy for Man United to sign him on the cheap next year.

Will Sancet Be A Good Option For Manchester United?

Sancet is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to engineer some clear-cut chances for his teammates in the final third. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring the odd goal for his team.

However, the Spanish sensation has to find a way to be more consistent in front of the opponent’s goal. Sancet is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so.

We can expect Sancet to add more quality and depth to Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s midfield department. He is good enough to serve as a useful presence in the Mancunian club’s squad.

At 25, Sancet has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great option for the Red Devils to consider this winter or at the end of this campaign. However, Amorim has to give him some time to settle into the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League.
