Real Madrid Ready To Spend €100 Million To Sign William Saliba
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Real Madrid are trailing FC Barcelona by four points in La Liga and will play them in the final of the Copa Del Rey. However, they have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League this season. Barca are the favorites to win both the league and the cup. So, Madrid need to have a lot of changes in their squad in the summer transfer window.

The Spanish giants have struggled in their backline and have conceded consistent goals. Meanwhile, David Alaba and Eder Militao have struggled with injury problems. On the other hand, Alaba and Rudiger are on the wrong end of their 30s, and hence Real Madrid need a quality young centre-back to fit in their first team.

Real Madrid Ready To Spend €100 Million To Sign William Saliba

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been keeping tabs on William Saliba for a long time. Fichajes has now reported that they are ready to pay €100 million to Arsenal to sign the Frenchman. Saliba has been one of the best young defenders in the Premier League for quite some time. He has conceded 19 goals and kept 12 clean sheets in 31 matches in the Premier League 2024/2025 season.

The bid that Real Madrid are willing to make will undoubtedly make Saliba the most expensive defender in history. So, this will definitely tempt Arsenal, given that he has two years remaining in his contract. However, the Gunners will unlikely decide to sell him, as he is one of the most important players in the squad and they will definitely want to extend his contract. The Frenchman is also happy at the Emirates Stadium.

What does Saliba bring to the table?

William Saliba is a commanding, composed center-back with exceptional ball-playing ability. His physicality, anticipation, and tactical intelligence make him a defensive rock. Quick, strong, and calm under pressure, he excels in one-on-one duels and distribution, seamlessly blending modern flair with old-school defending.

Signing Saliba would be a brilliant move for Real Madrid. His youth, elite defending, and ball-playing skills fit their Galactico ethos. He’d strengthen their backline alongside Alaba and Militao, ensuring long-term stability. However, Arsenal’s reluctance and his high transfer fee could complicate negotiations, demanding a hefty investment.
