Casemiro And Fernandes Get 8.5 | Manchester United Players Rated In Dominant Win Vs Athletic Bilbao
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Manchester United welcomed Athletic Bilbao at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they focused on securing a win in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League semifinal tie. The Red Devils made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 31st minute when Mikel Jauregizar got his name on the scoresheet. The Mancunian club went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Ruben Amorim’s men came out with more purpose in the second half and scored the equaliser in the 72nd minute thanks to Mason Mount’s effort. Casemiro completed the turnaround just seven minutes later. Rasmus Hojlund put the contest to bed in the 85th minute before Mount scored again in injury time. The match ended with Man United securing a 4-1 win on the night and a 7-1 win on aggregate.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the clash against Athletic Bilbao.

GK: Andre Onana – 6/10

Onana didn’t have a save to make in the game but failed to keep a clean sheet.

CB: Victor Lindelof – 6/10

He cleared the danger when he could but looked a bit shaky at the back.

CB: Harry Maguire – 6.5/10

Maguire put his foot through the ball when needed and did enough to limit the opposition to just one goal.

CB: Leny Yoro – 8/10

He performed his defensive duties well and was good on the ball. Yoro has got an assist to his name.

RM: Noussair Mazraoui – 6/10

He came back to defend when he could but offered very little in the final third.

CM: Manuel Ugarte – 6.5/10

Ugarte did his best to protect his backline but lacked quality in the opposition half.

CM: Casemiro – 8.5/10

He anchored the midfield well and was not shy of having a strike at goal. He managed to score in the 79th minute.

LM: Patrick Dorgu – 8/10

Dorgu was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

RAM: Alejandro Garnacho – 6/10

He caught the eye at times but failed to threaten the opposition goal.

LAM: Bruno Fernandes – 8.5/10

Fernandes was a constant menace in the final third and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

ST: Rasmus Hojlund – 7.5/10

He was a real handful for the Bilbao defenders and managed to find the back of the net in the 85th minute.

Substitutes:

LM: Luke Shaw – 6.5/10

He was solid at the back.

CM: Mason Mount – 9/10

Mount came on and scored twice to help Man United secure a memorable win.

RM: Amad Diallo – 7.5/10

He made two good runs with the ball and did well to secure an assist.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo – N/A

LM: Harry Amass – N/A
