Manchester United attacker Antony’s agent says that his client is open to making the move to the Saudi Pro League during this summer’s transfer window.
Manchester United attacker Antony’s agent has said that his client is open to making the move to the Saudi Pro League during this summer’s transfer window.
The 25-year-old spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Real Betis, scoring nine times and registering five assists in 26 appearances for the Seville club in all competitions.
Real Betis would like to sign the Brazilian on a permanent basis, but Man United need to sell the forward for £32.5m to avoid suffering a loss when it comes to PSR.
Such a figure is likely to be beyond Real Betis, but Antony is not short of interest, with Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid all believed to be keen.
At the end of last week, it was claimed that two of the leading clubs in Saudi Arabia are interested in Antony, who could become one of the best-paid footballers in the world with a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Antony open to Saudi Pro League move, claims agent
Antony’s agent Junior Pedroso has confirmed that his client is open to moving to the Saudi Pro League.
“What I can say is that the player is on the market, and there are several clubs that want to know his current status,” Pedroso told WinWin.
“We listen to the projects and analyse them. But he is open to moving to Saudi Arabia. Anything is possible, we are looking for what is best for him.”
Antony was excellent for Real Betis in the second half of last season, but he has largely struggled during his time at Man United, only managing 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances in all competitions.
Man United will not drop Antony asking price
Man United head coach Ruben Amorim has insisted that Antony, in addition to the likes of Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho, will not be sold on the cheap this summer.
“There are different reasons for the players,” Amorim told reporters on Friday. “Some players have to find a new place to have more space in the team and other players clearly show they want a new challenge and want new teams. We are just allowing these players to have time to think and to decide.
“If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join the team because they are our players. I know for a fact, these people, Omar [Berrada], Jason [Wilcox] and the club, have a number for these players. If they don’t reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that.
“I understand that clubs are waiting for the last minute but they can have a surprise. I’m ready to receive the players, they have more competition, more competition. If you want to play in the World Cup next year you need to play.”
Antony is not with the Man United squad in the United States, while he has not been training with the first team this summer amid the speculation surrounding his future.
