Arsenal and Real Madrid will meet once again in the Champions League this week.
And whilst they are in Spain, the Gunners might take the opportunity to discuss the likelihood of a bid for Turkish starlet Arda Güler succeeding. Once tipped as a major future star, Guler has made just 11 starts since arriving from Fenerbahçe in 2023, and appears to be well down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti.
He is keen to leave to get more game time, and he is on the radar of a number of clubs, including Arsenal, with a reported valuation of ₤40 million.
It is difficult not to draw parallels with what happened to Martin Ødegaard. Another star signed by Real Madrid at a young age, but who then found himself marginalised. And like Ødegaard Arsenal will be hoping that the Turkish international can find a new home in North London.
