Arsenal Move In The Race For Rodrygo Goes
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Arsenal are more uncertain than certain in the summer transfer window. While their rivals have started to move with ease, the north Londoners have not yet managed to close a deal that will shake up the transfer market. The objective of strengthening the attacking department remains firm, but the key decisions have yet to be made.

Liverpool have already strengthened their squad with Jeremie Frimpong and could add Florian Wirtz. Manchester City have also added to their squad. In the meantime, Mikel Arteta’s side are watching, waiting, and trying out names without finalising their plans. The scenario is becoming more and more pressing with pre-season just around the corner.

Arsenal Move In The Race For Rodrygo Goes

According to Football Insider, Arsenal have reportedly placed Rodrygo Goes as their main target to strengthen their attacking front. However, the move looks complicated. The Brazilian seems inclined to remain at Real Madrid, and the club will not facilitate an exit without an offer close to £100 million.

In addition, the player’s desire to consolidate with Xabi Alonso further complicates the Gunners’ interest. Meanwhile, the London club are also keeping an eye on other names such as Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, as reported by the same media in recent reports.

T4O Opinion:

The Rodrygo case leaves several questions up in the air. If the Brazilian stays at the Santiago Bernabeu, Arsenal must change their approach. They can’t afford to keep waiting for a player who, although talented, never showed clear signs of wanting to move to London. The Gunners need quality players in the summer, and fast. If the initial plan falls through, looking at solid alternatives such as Nico Williams or even turning their eye back on Kenan Yildiz would be sensible, provided the price doesn’t skyrocket.

With the market inflated, shelling out 100 million for the 24-year-old Brazilian seems a very risky gamble, especially if it puts the brakes on the arrival of a striker like Gyokeres or Sesko, who would fit directly into what the team needs. Arteta cannot ignore the fact that his rivals have acted decisively. The club need to match that energy. To be without a top winger would be a strategic failure. A clear direction must be taken and reinforcements made without hesitation. Because while they wait for Rodrygo, the market train could leave them behind.
