Atlético de Madrid Want To Pay €40 to €50 Million For Manchester United Outcast: Should The Red Devils Accept The Offer?

Antony seems to have found some respite in Spain. After a disappointing spell in the Premier League with Manchester United, the Brazilian has shown another side to his game in La Liga. With eight goals and five assists during his loan spell at Real Betis, the 25-year-old winger has regained confidence, pace and joy. This performance has not gone unnoticed, and his future is beginning to generate serious interest from several fronts. The summer is shaping up to be a turning point. The moves have begun, and contacts between clubs are intensifying. The market is starting to heat up.

Atlético de Madrid Want To Pay €40 to €50 Million For Manchester United Outcast Antony:

Atlético de Madrid want to sign him. According to Football España, the club are interested in a permanent transfer for Antony and plans to talk to Manchester United. United have set his price between €40 and €50 million, a figure that can be adjusted with variables or even with a payment in instalments. Simeone sees the Brazilian as a useful player, someone who can bring dribbling, pace and goalscoring ability.

Atletico’s squad need width and depth in the wings, and Antony fits that profile well. Meanwhile, a number of Italian clubs are also monitoring the situation. However, the fact that the Brazilian has adapted to Spanish football could tip the balance in Atlético’s favour. Real Betis do not rule out his return, but lack the financial resources to compete with Los Colchoneros. Everything suggests that Antony will prioritise staying in La Liga, where he already feels comfortable and effective. The option of a competitive club like Atlético also represents the opportunity to play in Europe and fight for titles.

Should the Red Devils accept it?

From Manchester United’s point of view, selling Antony at this time seems a logical decision. The player did not live up to expectations after arriving as one of the strongest bets of the Ten Hag era. His time at Old Trafford left more shadows than lights. A sale in the summer would allow them to recover part of the investment and redirect that money towards a new and more productive signing.

Antony needs minutes, prominence and confidence, things that he will hardly find in Manchester. An environment like Atlético’s, with a more direct style and a well-defined tactical structure, could be beneficial for him. Moreover, an orderly exit would break the stagnation that has marked his career since he left Ajax. On the other hand, if United insist on retaining Antony, they risk keeping an unmotivated player with no real impact on the pitch. The move makes sense for both sides. Antony gains a new opportunity, and the English club regain some capital and space in the squad. Sometimes, a change of air is enough to reactivate a talent that seemed lost. In this case, Spanish football has already shown signs that it may be the right place for Antony.
