Barcelona Interested In A Loan Move For This Man United Maestro: How The Move Could Happen
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Spanish news outlet SPORT has reported that FC Barcelona remains interested in the out-of-favour Manchester United star Marcus Rashford. They have even agreed on a deal to bring him on loan for the second half of the season. However, the Catalan club need to free up their wage bill before bringing him to the club.

Barcelona are ready with a loan deal for the Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford

Rashford has been frozen out of the first team for more than one month after falling down the pecking order of the new manager, Ruben Amorim. So, he is desperate to leave the club and move to a new club where he will receive regular game time.

He has appeared in 15 matches this season in the Premier League, playing a total of 983 minutes. Marcus Rashford scores an average of 0.37 goals for every 90 minutes that the player is on the pitch. Overall, Marcus Rashford’s goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.37.

Moreover, his total G/A (goals + assists) is 5 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.46 per 90 minutes. The Manchester United outcast’s non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.33. This puts Rashford’s npxG output at 3.56, which puts him in the top 86 percentile of Premier League players. Not bad at all, but for a club like United, maybe it’s not enough?

The player is ready to leave Manchester United for even a loan move. Many top-tier clubs have been interested in signing Rashford. Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona have been interested in signing him with the Blaugrana leading the race for a loan deal. The club needs a natural left-winger after Ansu Fati has fallen down the pecking order of Hansi Flick after his lacklustre performances and is set to leave the club.

How can Barca bring him on board?

Therefore, Rashford will be the perfect replacement who will provide the pace and the directness on the left-wing and can compete with Raphinha for that position. However, Barca have struggled to register players in the past, and they now need to free up the wage bill to bring him on loan to the club. Rahsford is even ready to lower his €18 million-a-year wages to move to the Catalan club, but they need to sell Fati or any other player to free up the space in the wage bill.

It remains to be seen if Barcelona can go on to finalise the deal before the January transfer window ends. All will depend on how they manage to free up space on their wage bill.
