Chelsea are expected to be active again in the January transfer window, with more incomings and outgoings in the offing.
Indications are that they are prepared to listen to offers for Carney Chukwuemake and Cesare Casedei, whilst several fringe players may be allowed to leave on loan.
There have also been suggestions that they will allow Enzo Fernandez to leave should they receive a good enough offer for him.
That will potentially allow space to bring in midfield replacements, with one name now being linked is Pablo Barrios, who currently plays for Atlético Madrid.
Barrios was part of the Spanish under-23 side that won Olympic gold in the summer, and now has 50 La Liga appearances to his name. Typically he plays in a deep lying position, as evidenced by the fact that he is yet to score for Diego Simeone’s side.
