The future of Marc Guehi remains uncertain, with his contract due to expire in less than nine months. The England international can sign a deal with clubs from abroad in a little over two months, at the turn of the year, and should have no trouble getting a contract put in front of him.
Liverpool’s failed attempt to sign him last summer opened up his future, with a number of top clubs across the continent far more interested in Guehi on a free transfer, as he would likely be. Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been linked to Guehi, with both sides in need of a central defender next summer.
Bayern Munich hold meeting with Guehi’s agent
According to Florian Plettenberg of SkySport DE, this week Guehi’s agent Gordon Stipic met with Bayern Munich to discuss a potential move. Sporting Director Max Eberl has positioned the Bavarian club as one of the sides leading the race for Guehi, with Real Madrid and Liverpool the other two teams in contention.
There are caveats to their interest though, with Bayern planning for the potential loss of Dayot Upamecano or Kim Min-Jae next summer, which could be dealbreakers. Equally, they are keen on Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck.

Real Madrid strategy in central defence
With Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba playing out the final year of their contracts, the plan has always been for Los Blancos to sign a centre-back next summer. At one stage, it looked fairly certain that might be Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate – part of the reason the Reds moved for Guehi in the first place. That said, talk of a move for Konate has cooled of late, and they are yet to agree terms with the Frenchman. Originally Real Madrid wanted Arsenal’s William Saliba before his contract extension, and they have also been linked to Upamecano.
