Barcelona confirm the sale of Pau Victor to Braga, with the Catalan outfit making a healthy profit on a player who arrived at Camp Nou last summer.
Barcelona have confirmed the sale of Pau Victor to Braga, with the Catalan outfit making a healthy profit on a player who arrived at Camp Nou for a fee in the region of €2m (£1.8m) in the summer of 2024.
Victor initially represented Barcelona B on loan from Girona during the 2023-24 season, scoring 20 times in 39 appearances, which led to the Catalan team signing him on a permanent basis.
The 23-year-old made 29 appearances for Barcelona at senior level last term, scoring twice and registering one assist, but he has now made the move to Braga on a permanent basis.
According to The Athletic, Barcelona have received an initial €12m (£10.5m) for Victor, with a further €3m (£2.6m) set to arrive in add-ons, so it is a lucrative sale for the La Liga champions considering how much he cost.
‘Agreement reached between FC Barcelona and Sporting Clube de Braga for the transfer of the player Pau Víctor. The Club wishes him the best of luck and every success in his future personal and professional endeavours,” read a statement from the Catalan giants.
Barcelona sell Spanish forward Victor to Braga
Victor would have struggled for regular action at Barcelona during the 2025-26 campaign, with Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Dani Olmo all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have brought in Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United, with the England international set to spend the 2025-26 campaign at Camp Nou ahead of a possible permanent move next summer.
The Catalan team have also signed goalkeeper Joan Garcia and teenage attacker Roony Bardghji, and club president Joan Laporta has said that their summer transfer business in terms of incomings is over.
“In principle, there will be no more new signings,” Laporta told Mundo Deportivo. “We have a good squad, and the coach wants to strengthen the first team with players from the reserves. But we don’t expect new deals at the moment.”
Will there be any major Barcelona exits this summer?
Barcelona are well-stocked in the middle of midfield, and it would therefore not be a surprise to see a player leave in that area of the field before the end of the summer transfer window.
Marc Casado has admirers from the Premier League, and it would not be a shock to see the Spaniard depart.
Fermin Lopez has also been linked with an exit, but it would be a surprise if the attacker left considering how he is viewed by Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen had been linked with an exit, but the Germany international is set to undergo a back operation next week, so he will not be leaving Camp Nou this summer.
