Arsenal are interested in signing Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoumé.
The 22 year old came through the youth ranks at French club Sochaux, where his talent attracted Inter Milan. However, he made just four senior appearances for them, instead embarking on a series of loan moves, one of whom was to Sevilla, who then made the arrangement permanent.
He has since made 29 appearances for them in all competitions, establishing a reputation for leadership and for his physical attributes.
Agoumé shares an agent with William Saliba.
Although born in Cameroon, he has played for France at every age group up to under-21 level.
The Gunners are looking for a long-term replacement for Thomas Partey at the base of their midfield, who is now the wrong side of 30, and whose career at the Emirates has been blighted by injury problems, although this season he has mainly stayed fit.
