Arsenal are once again being linked with a move for Spanish winger Nico Williams, one of the stars of the team that won the Euros last summer.
The Gunners were in the hunt for Williams during the last transfer window, and competed for his services alongside Barcelona, although in the end he stayed with Athletic Bilbao.
But now, following Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury, which could mean the England star is out until March, they could turn to Williams again, and are ready to trigger his release clause of ₤48 million.
Barcelona’s well documented financial problems means that they are not in a position to do any sort of deal for him this time.
The North London side have also been monitoring Rafael Leão of AC Milan, but regard Williams as a more cost effective solution than the Portuguese international. There are suggestions that it would cost at least ₤65 million to bring him to the Emirates.
