West Ham United have allegedly been in touch with Barcelona to discuss the possibility of signing Marc Casado this summer.
West Ham United have reportedly been in touch with Barcelona to discuss the possibility of signing Marc Casado before this summer’s transfer window closes for business.
Casado, 21, had a breakthrough 2024-25 campaign at Barcelona, representing the Catalan side on 36 occasions in all competitions, including 23 appearances in the top flight of Spanish football.
There has been speculation surrounding his future during this summer’s market, though, with a number of clubs from the Premier League believed to be admirers of the Spaniard.
Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs to be linked with Casado, who was an unused substitute in Barcelona’s opening match of the 2025-26 La Liga campaign against Mallorca.
However, according to Fichajes, West Ham have made contact with Barcelona, and the Hammers have expressed a willingness to pay €30m (£26m) for his signature.
West Ham ‘make contact’ over move for Casado
The report claims that West Ham view Casado as the perfect player to boost their midfield, but it remains to be seen whether he can be convinced to leave a Champions League club behind.
Casado could find it difficult to secure regular minutes this season, as Frenkie de Jong and Pedri are the first-choice midfield duo, while Marc Bernal and Gavi are also ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Spaniard needs regular action this season in order to stand a realistic chance of featuring for La Roja at the 2026 World Cup, but there could be late interest in his services from clubs in the Premier League.
Earlier this year, Casado said that he wants to spend his entire career with Barcelona.
“I hope so. I want to spend my entire career at Barcelona and retire here. It’s my dream, it’s the club I love,” Casado told Beteve. “I hope so. As I said, my goal is to stay here as long as possible and finish my career at Barcelona.”

Would Casado be a good signing for West Ham?
Casado is a class act – excellent on the ball and capable of dictating the play from a deep area, while he has the engine required to play central midfield in the Premier League.
If West Ham could pull it off, it would be an incredible signing considering his quality and experience of top-level action, but at this stage, a switch to the London Stadium is not imminent.
