Sunday’s La Liga action featured another stumble for Atletico Madrid as Diego Simeone’s side were held to a 1-1 draw at Mallorca.
Elsewhere, draw specialists Celta Vigo tied with Rayo Vallecas in Madrid, and Elche’s brilliant start to the campaign continued with a win over Real Oviedo.

Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Celta Vigo
Celta remain without a La Liga win so far this season as they recorded a fifth draw from six games on the road in Vallecas.
Borja Iglesas was denied with the clearest chance of the first half but the veteran striker eventually edged the visitors ahead on 49 minutes as he forced home from a corner.
However, that positivity was short lived, as Jorge de Frutos poked home a deserved leveller just after the hour mark.

Both No.9s missed late opportunities to snatch a win, as Alemao and Ferran Jutgla were kept out, and Rayo are now without a league win in three games.
Mallorca 1-1 Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid landed in Palma looking to banish the ghost of their late Champions League defeat at Anfield but their La Liga tally remains at just one win from five in 2025/26.
The visitors dominated from the off, as Pablo Barrios battered a long range effort off the post, before Julian Alvarez was denied from the penalty spot.
Mallorca keeper Leo Roman was in inspired form, as he produced a sensational second half save from Alvarez, before Atletico’s case was made ever harder as Alexander Sorloth was sent off for a high challenge on Antonio Raillo.
Conor Gallagher followed up to fire the visitors level, after Roman saved from Marcos Llorente, but the away side were undone late on as Vedat Muriqi stole in to nod home an equaliser.

Elche 1-0 Real Oviedo
Elche have been one of the success stories so far in the 2025/26 La Liga season and they are up to fifth – with five games unbeaten.
With confidence sky high, Andre Silva poked home for the second game running after nine minutes, to send the home crowd wild.
The hosts could and should have doubled their lead after the restart, with Oviedo keeper Aaron Escandell in inspired form, but it’s still superb from Eder Sarabia’s team.
