Real Madrid made it six wins from six in La Liga with a commanding 4-1 victory over Levante, with goals from Vinicius Junior, Franco Mastantuono and two for Kylian Mbappe. Here’s how their players fared at the Ciudad de Valencia.
Player ratings
Thibaut Courtois – 6
Made an important save from Ivan Romero early on, and could do little about Karl Etta-Eyong’s goal.
Raul Asencio – 6
Didn’t look overly comfortable at right-back, but did well enough.
Dean Huijsen – 7
Performed well on his return to the line-up.
Alvaro Carreras – 8
It was a shock to see him start as a centre-back, but he performed very well in keeping with his strong start to life as a Real Madrid player.
Fran Garcia – 6.5
Struggled up against Carlos Alvarez at times, but on the whole, a solid display in his first start of the season.
Federico Valverde – 7
Another steady performance from Valverde, also provided the assist for Vinicius’ opening goal.
Dani Ceballos – 7
It’s clear to see why Ceballos is counted on by Xabi Alonso, as he produced a controlled performance.
Arda Guler – 7.5
Beautiful assist for Mbappe’s second, and on the whole, another strong display from the Türkiye international.
Franco Mastantuono – 8
Excellent goal – his first for Real Madrid. Alonso will have a decision to make with him when Jude Bellingham is ready to start matches.
Kylian Mbappe – 8.5
He deserved his two goals, in what was another lively performance. Nine goals in seven matches this season speaks for itself.
Vinicius Junior – 8.5
He looked back to the Vinicius of the 2023-24 season, which is very encouraging for Real Madrid. Scored the opening goal before laying on Mastantuono’s minutes later.
Substitutes
Aurelien Tchouameni – 6
Controlled the play during his cameo.
Jude Bellingham – 6
Involved a lot in his short time on the pitch, as he continued working his way back to full fitness.
Eduardo Camavinga – 6
Solid enough.
Rodrygo Goes – 6
Saw little of the ball.
David Alaba – 6
Not involved much, but he didn’t need to be.
