Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing the Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller at the end of the season.
According to Pete O’Rourke from Football Insider, Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old defensive midfielder, and he could cost around £50 million. The player is reportedly on the radar of Real Madrid as well, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
Stiller has been linked with Arsenal as well.
The midfielder is in demand
“It’s not surprise that he’s attracting interest from top clubs,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s been very impressive for Stuttgart this season in the Bundesliga.
“I think he’s got a release clause in his contract as well for around £50million.
“He is that defensive midfielder that Liverpool have been looking at, he’s a player that a lot of the top clubs are looking at.
“Real Madrid are now the latest club to show interest in Stiller as they are still looking for a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos.”

Liverpool could use Angelo Stiller

Liverpool could certainly use a defensive midfielder this summer, and Stiller would be a major upgrade on Wataru Endo. The Japanese International is the only specialist defensive midfielder at the club right now, and he is in the twilight stages of his career.
Liverpool need a younger alternative with more quality, and Stiller has been outstanding in the Bundesliga. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool follow up on their interest with an official offer to sign the player. They need to improve multiple areas of their squad this summer, and spending £50 million on him could be difficult.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid need to add midfield depth, and the Bundesliga star could be the ideal acquisition for them. They have the resources to get the deal across the line as well.
It will be interesting to see where the player ends up. He will look to compete at a high level, and the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool will be exciting opportunities for him. Both clubs could provide him with the platform to fight for major trophies.
