Marcus Rashford has no plans for Manchester United return – “I hope to be at Barcelona” – Football España

Marcus Rashford has made a fine start to his Barcelona career, following his summer move from Manchester United. Two goals against Olympiacos earlier in the week took him to five goals and four assists in only 12 appearances for the Catalans, with whom he has hit the ground running.

Rashford will be keen to carry on his excellent form when Barcelona travel to the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend for El Clasico. Speaking to the club’s official media channels (via Sport), he spoke on the upcoming fixture, as well as any memories he had of watching it over the years.

“I’m really looking forward to El Clasico. As a player, your career is not very long and then you miss these games. I want to do my best to win the game. It’s going to be special.

“El Clásico is the most watched match in the world. Remembering a favourite moment is difficult, because if you are a football fan, you have seen all the Clásicos. It is important to learn from the best players and see how they play in moments of pressure. I remember Messi’s hat-trick in his early days; they are great games to watch. You don’t have to be a fan of either to enjoy the match. It’s special.”

Rashford hopes to join Barcelona permanently

Rashford also made it clear that he hopes to see Barcelona sign him permanently next summer, as he opened up on his start to life in Catalonia.

“I’m really enjoying my time in Spain. The timing is the best, but it’s been a very big change. I’m learning every day, I’m enjoying it a lot. I hope to be at Barcelona for a long time. I get along very well with Roony, as well as Jules and Frenkie. It’s a team in which we all mix. We are united. The team is fantastic, I just have to be in the right position. I will continue to try to do this. We have to continue like this to be our best version. We have a lot more to do this season.”
