Martin Gets 8, Lopez With 7.5 | Barcelona Players Rated In Hard-Fought Win Vs Real Valladolid
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Barcelona faced off against Real Valladolid at the Estadio José Zorrilla earlier tonight as they hoped to secure all three points on the road in La Liga. The Catalan club made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the sixth minute when Ivan Sanchez got his name on the scoresheet. Hansi Flick’s men failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Raphinha equalised for Barca in the 54th minute before Fermin Lopez completed the turnaround just six minutes later. The contest finished with the Catalan giants earning a hard-fought 2-1 win away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player fared during the contest against Real Valladolid.

GK: Marc-Andre ter Stegen – 7/10

The German keeper made a few solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet.

RB: Hector Fort – 7/10

He performed his defensive duties well and made one key chance going forward.

CB: Ronald Araujo – 6.5/10

Araujo earned possession back once and did enough to limit the opposition to just one goal.

CB: Andreas Christensen – 6.5/10

He won his fair share of aerial duels and was accurate with his passing.

LB: Gerard Martin – 8/10

He got stuck in with a few solid tackles and engineered some meaningful openings in the final third. Martin ended the game with an assist to his name.

CM: Pedri – 6.5/10

Pedri made a few inviting chances for others around him and was replaced at half-time.

CM: Gavi – 7/10

He came back to defend when required and caught the eye at times in the opponent’s half.

CM: Fermin Lopez – 7.5/10

Lopez caused some problems for the opposition defenders and gave Barcelona the lead at the hour mark.

RW: Dani Rodriguez – 6/10

He struggled to impress during his time on the field.

ST: Pau Victor – 6.5/10

Victor was not shy of having a strike at goal but failed to take his chances.

LW: Ansu Fati – 6.5/10

He made two promising runs with the ball but failed to register a goal. He was substituted at half-time.

Substitutes:

RW: Lamine Yamal – 7/10

He made a lot of dangerous runs with the ball but failed to find the back of the net.

LW: Raphinha – 7.5/10

Raphinha scored the all-important equaliser in the 54th minute.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 6.5/10

He added more quality to Flick’s midfield.

CAM: Dani Olmo – 6.5/10

Olmo proved his worth at times after coming off the bench.

RB: Eric Garcia – 6/10

He was solid at the back.
