Nunez wanted by ‘four’ clubs as Reds exit nears after

Darwin Nunez is said to be wanted by Barcelona, AC Milan, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, with Liverpool reported as being keen to sell the striker.

Reds boss Arne Slot looks set to significantly revamp his side’s forward line following reports that they are closing in on Eintracht Frankfurt centre-forward Hugo Ekitike.

The outline of a deal has reportedly been agreed, and the Frenchman’s arrival would almost certainly signal the end of Nunez’s time at Anfield.

Slot only started the Uruguayan on eight occasions in the Premier League last term, and the forward will want regular minutes in 2025-26.

If the Serie A champions were unwilling – or unable – to agree a deal due to financial differences, then it is difficult to imagine Italian giants AC Milan doing so.

The same can be said of Barcelona, who have struggled in recent seasons to overcome their off-field strife as a result of significant debt.

Clubs such as Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr have access to riches that would make a transfer more feasible, and stories emerged in January claiming that Nunez was open to leaving in the winter to the Saudi Pro League.

However, it should be noted that Uruguay have ambitions of competing at the World Cup next year, and Nunez may benefit from playing against higher-calibre opponents in order to be in the best form possible for his national side.

Though Liverpool would like to recoup as much as possible for their striker, there is a chance that the player could force them to accept a lower fee from a European club this summer.
