Thomas Partey is hoping to join Barcelona this summer.
The Ghanian international will be out of contract with Arsenal at the end of the season and will become a free agent. Whilst there were suggestions at one stage that he might be offered a new deal at the Emirates, it now looks like the club are heading in a different direction, with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubímendi, heavily linked with a move to North London.
Jorginho is also headed for the Emirates exit door, with a move to Brazil and Flamengo well advanced.
There are also doubts over Partey’s injury record, although ironically this has been his best season for staying fit since arriving from Atlético Madrid in 2020.
Atlético are also monitoring his situation, but the player himself favours a move to their La Liga rivals. They are looking for a replacement for Frenkie de Jong, who is expected to leave the Catalans at the end of the current campaign.
