Verdict: Draw

Best Odds: 21/10

Bookmaker: Dachbet

Two camps who are desperately seeking a much-needed La Liga boost on Monday night, Leganes will welcome Osasuna to Madrid.

Leganes

Starting with the hosts, while Leganes might have snatched a 1-0 victory against local rivals Getafe last month, it appears that might have been just a minor boost for Borja Jimenez’s camp. Hit with consecutive 3-2 defeats against Real Madrid and Betis on either side of March’s international break, the Cucumber Growers are pencilled in as a leading contender to be hit with an immediate Segunda return in 2025. Opening Monday’s showdown sat in the relegation zone, the Madrid-based outfit have lost each of their previous three La Liga appearances by an aggregate score of 8-5. Likewise, along with crashing out of the Copa del Rey on February 5th following another action-packed 3-2 defeat against Los Blancos, Leganes have mustered just a sole win from any of their last 10 appearances across all competitions.

Leganes Team News

Picking up what was a costly late booking away at Real Madrid last weekend, Oscar Rodriguez will serve a one-match suspension here. Both still dealing with respective knee injuries, Leganes will once again be without the duo of Enric Franquesa and former Rangers defender Borna Barisic on Monday night.

Returning from a three-match ban prior to March’s international break, one-time Barcelona youngster Munir El Haddadi should get some more minutes under his belt. Former Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic will partner Sergio Poirrier at the back.

Osasuna

As for the visitors, while Osasuna might have opened up 2025 in the midst of a flurry, Los Rojillos have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Marking their return from March’s international break with a routine 3-0 drumming at the hands of Barcelona, Vicente Moreno’s men have come tumbling down the La Liga standings. Watching their respective Copa del Rey adventure come to an end of February 6th as they slumped to a 2-0 loss against Real Sociedad, Monday’s guests are without a win from any of their previous eight appearances across all competitions. It should also be highlighted, Osasuna have remarkably collected just a sole La Liga victory since the start of November. Enduring what has become a public rut, the former Espanyol boss has some serious pressure mounting on his shoulders.

Osasuna Team News

Picking up a hamstring injury prior to March’s international break, Osasuna are once again expected to be without Bayern Munich loanee Bryan Zaragoza on Monday night. However, after serving a one-match suspension against Athletic Bilbao last weekend, number one goalkeeper Sergio Herrera will return between the sticks.

Notching 15 La Liga strikes this season and enjoying what has been an eye-catching run, Croatian international Ante Budimir will spearhead Osasuna’s charge in the final third. One-time Real Madrid starlet Lucas Torro will partner Jon Moncayola in the middle of the park.

Leganes vs Osasuna Key Factors to Consider

When Leganes and Osasuna met for their reverse La Liga showdown on August 17th, Monday’s opponents played out a 1-1 stalemate in Navarre.
Leganes have recorded just a single victory from any of their previous 10 matchups across all competitions.
Osasuna have remarkably put just a single La Liga victory on the board since way back on November 2nd.
Monday’s guests have recorded just a single goal from any of their last five consecutive matchups on the road.
Four of the previous six meetings between Leganes and Osasuna have finished with under 2.5 goals.

Conclusion

Two camps who are desperately seeking a much-needed La Liga boost on Monday night, we could be set for a cagey affair from the capital. In a showdown that tends to produce cagey affairs, chances could come at a premium in Madrid. With Leganes and Osasuna playing out a 1-1 stalemate when they met for their reverse La Liga battle on August 17th, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Verdict: Draw

Best Odds: 21/10
