Lamine Yamal’s comments ahead of El Clasico have not gone down well with Real Madrid’s squad. The Barcelona star has ratcheted up the tension by stating publicly that Los Blancos are guilty of benefitting from refereeing decisions.
Ahead of the game on Thursday, Lamine Yamal appeared as part of a King’s League event, and commented that ‘Yes, Real Madrid rob [other teams]’. The 18-year-old has never backed down from making confident statements, but he appears to have got under the skin of the Real Madrid players.
Real Madrid dressing room unhappy with Lamine Yamal
According to Marca, the Real Madrid players have taken his words as an extra motivation for Sunday’s Clasico. They feel that he is a poor and unprofessional colleague, who does not have any respect for his fellow footballers. Making those comments so close to El Clasico has confused those at Valdebebas.
Dani Carvajal to have words with Lamine Yamal
More than just use it as motivation for the game, Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal intends to speak with Lamine Yamal after the final whistle at the Bernabeu. The general feeling from the Real Madrid players that it was ‘disrespectful’ and an ‘idiocy’ for Lamine Yamal to make those comments will be communicated to him.

Not only do they think that it was not especially smart, but some believe it could jeopardise the harmony in the Spain camp – hence Carvajal’s plans to try and resolve the matter.
Carvajal has defended Lamine Yamal previously
Lamine Yamal came in for heavy criticism for his antics off the pitch in the summer, and the veteran Real Madrid defender came out in his defence. “People have to understand that it’s complicated. He’s an 18-year-old kid who’s already a key player at a club like FC Barcelona, which is one of the best in the world,” Carvajal noted, before adding that the situation for a teenager was ‘not easy to manage.’
