Real Madrid ‘could sell Vinicius Junior’ and ‘replace him’ with 28-goal forward in blockbuster summer transfer

Real Madrid could allegedly make a move for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen during this summer’s transfer window.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering making a move for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen during this summer’s transfer window.

The Nigeria international has been in excellent form on loan at Galatasaray during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 28 times and registering five assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Osimhen, as it stands, will return to Napoli this summer, but he is widely expected to leave the Italian giants on a permanent basis, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in his signature.

Manchester United continue to be heavily linked with the 26-year-old, who has scored 76 goals and registered 12 assists in 133 appearances for Napoli in all competitions since his arrival from Lille in 2020.

However, according to Fichajes, there is also interest from Real Madrid, with Los Blancos considering making a move for the Nigerian during this summer’s transfer window.

The report claims that Real Madrid view Osimhen as a possible replacement for Vinicius Junior, as the Brazilian continues to be linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid ‘consider Osimhen as Vinicius replacement’

Vinicius has again been in strong form for Real Madrid during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 19 goals and registering 13 assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

However, it is not impossible to imagine him leaving considering the money that could be secured for his exit.

An offer of €300m (£255m) could allegedly be submitted to Real Madrid from the Saudi Pro League, with Vinicius then being offered a staggering €200m (£170m) a season on a five-year deal.

Los Blancos are believed to be giving serious consideration to selling Vinicius this summer, and the club’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti said earlier this year that he would understand if the Brazilian departed.

“I understand everything. In football I understand everything. I also understood that [Toni] Kroos left football… and that few did. These decisions are individual,” Ancelotti told reporters.

Where would Osimhen play for Real Madrid?

Should Osimhen arrive this summer as a replacement for Vinicius, then it is highly likely that Kylian Mbappe would be moved into the left-sided attacking role, allowing the new signing to go through the middle.

Selling Vinicius would be a major call for Real Madrid considering his contribution to the cause, but Osimhen is also one of the leading forwards in world football, and he would be a statement signing for the capital giants.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in the Nigerian, who could allegedly be available for a free in the region of £62m during this summer’s transfer window.
