Real Madrid have reached ‘a verbal agreement’ with Dayot Upamecano over a 2026 transfer, according to FootMercato. Upamecano is out of contract at Bayern Munich, and Spanish and European giants Madrid have a deal in place with the France international central defender over a fee transfer thereafter.
Ibrahima Konate, though, still remains on Madrid’s radar. Like Upamecano, Konate is also out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season. The France international centre-back is keen on a move to Madrid as a free agent next summer.
Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are out of contract at Madrid at the end of the season. Both Rudiger and Alaba are in their 30s and have had injury issues, and it is hard to see Los Blancos hand them a new contract. Madrid are aiming to win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League this season.
