Rodrygo Has Placed A Demand For Arsenal

Arsenal close another season without lifting any silverware. Fans remember how the squad fought every matchday. The Emirates was filled with hope when the Champions League became red-hot. However, the semi-final loss left a void. The Premier League escaped them by a whisker. Mikel Arteta knows it better than anyone, as he needs consistent goals, a cutting edge and attacking depth.

The summer seems to be a turning point. Several names are circulating in the corridors of London. The board is clear that in order to take a definitive step forward, it is necessary to sign talent that will make a difference from day one.The first pieces are already starting to fall into place. Martin Zubimendi will provide the option in the middle. Noni Madueke seems to be in line to reinforce the wing. However, one name is on the agenda, and that is Rodrygo Goes.

Rodrygo Has Placed A Demand For Arsenal

According to Defensa Central, the Brazilian would be willing to land at the Emirates. And not only that. Rodrygo would prefer to play on the left flank if he ends up wearing red and white. At Real Madrid with Xabi Alonso, the Brazilian has lost his place and minutes. This situation fuels rumours of a possible departure. Arteta is watching the move carefully. He needs depth in attack and consistent goals. The opportunity could be now.

Should the Gunners accept the demands?

It is often debated where Rodrygo would fit in. Many see logic in placing him close to the line to exploit his dribbling. However, Arsenal could consider something more dynamic. With the arrival of Zubimendi, Arteta would be free to rotate systems. Rodrygo could start on the inside, attacking the space between centre-back and full-back. In that way, he would free Martinelli or Madueke to run wide.

Triangles would be created with Riccardo Calafiori or Myles Lewis-Skelly running from the back. This tactical flexibility is attractive. However, not everything shines equally. Rodrygo comes from an environment where the demands are at their highest. Swapping Madrid for London would mean the same, as the Gunners would be looking at him to stand up. The Emirates is unforgiving of apathy.

In addition, one has to wonder how he will adapt to the Premier League. The pace, the contacts and the intensity exceed what is experienced in Spain. Is he ready for such demands? Finally, his salary and transfer cost will condition other operations. If the gamble goes well, Arteta will add quality and goals. We think it is right to give him the left-wing position at Arsenal. The Gunners could then rotate between Gabriel Martinelli and the Brazilian, which will give them the attacking depth. We reported earlier that Arsenal won’t be selling Martinelli this summer.
