Savio Gets 8.5, Haaland With 7.5 | Manchester City Players Rated In Solid Victory Vs Villarreal
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Manchester City clashed heads with Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica earlier tonight as they focused on securing a win on the road in the UEFA Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s men made a bright start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 17th minute thanks to Erling Haaland’s effort. Bernardo Silva doubled his team’s advantage in the 40th minute as Man City went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.

The Mancunian giants controlled the game well in the second half and earned a solid 2-0 victory away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the match against Villarreal.

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma – 7/10

He made one good save at the back and kept an important clean sheet tonight.

RB: Matheus Nunes – 7/10

Nunes performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.

CB: Ruben Dias – 7/10

He dealt with the danger when needed and was good on the ball.

CB: John Stones – 7.5/10

Stones cleared his lines when he could and would be quite pleased with the clean sheet.

LB: Josko Gvardiol – 7.5/10

He hardly put a foot wrong defensively, but struggled to influence the game in the opposition half.

CM: Nico Gonzalez – 6.5/10

Gonzalez distributed the ball well and was replaced in the 56th minute.

CM: Bernardo Silva – 7.5/10

He was a positive influence on both ends of the field and managed to score in the 40th minute.

CM: Rico Lewis – 7.5/10

Lewis caught the eye at times at the centre of the park and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

RW: Savio – 8.5/10

He was a constant menace in the final third and ended the game with an assist to his name.

ST: Erling Haaland – 7.5/10

He was a real handful for the Villarreal defenders and managed to score the opener in the 17th minute.

LW: Jeremy Doku – 7/10

Doku caused some headaches for his marker, but there was no goal for him.

Substitutes:

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6.5/10

He added some creativity to Guardiola’s midfield.

RW: Oscar Bobb – 6/10

Bobb made one good chance in the final third.

CM: Tijjani Reijnders – 6/10

His impact on the game was minimal.

ST: Omar Marmoush – N/A

CAM: Rayan Cherki – N/A
