Tottenham Hotspur Have Set Their Sights On This La Liga Winger: Should Frank Go For Him?

In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo. It has been stated that Spurs would have to pay around €70m to land the Japan international this summer.

Kubo’s Recent Season In Spanish Football

Kubo managed to shine at times with his performances on the right side of Real Sociedad’s attack in the previous campaign. The 24-year-old banged in seven goals and earned four assists in 52 matches for the Spanish outfit last season across all fronts.

The Japanese talent proved his worth on the right flank by averaging 1.63 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 32.6% of his attempts on target. However, Kubo needs to improve his ball distribution after making 72.1% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Real Sociedad will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Spurs to land Kubo on the cheap in this transfer window.

Kubo is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some dangerous runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the vision to create some meaningful openings for his teammates in the final third.
