WATCH: Dean Huijsen sent off as Real Madrid reduced to 10 men

Real Madrid are hoping to make it four wins from four in La Liga, but their efforts to do so could be thwarted by a red card to defender Dean Huijsen.

Xabi Alonso’s side made a fast start in Donostia-San Sebastian when Kylian Mbappe set up Arda Guler to score, but the Frenchman was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up. However, he was not denied for long as he was released in behind following a terrible pass from La Real midfielder Mikel Goti, and with only Alex Remiro to beat, he made no mistake – as expected.

But just beyond the half hour mark, Real Madrid have been reduced to 10 men, and it’s a second dismissal in his short Los Blancos career for Dean Huijsen. The Spain international, signed from Bournemouth in the summer, was adjudged to have been the last man when he fouled Mikel Oyarzabal.

Real Madrid could not believe the decision, as they felt Eder Militao was covering Huijsen and Oyarzabal. However, referee Jesus Gil Manzano did not agree, and it means that Alonso’s side will be at a man disadvantage for the remaining minutes in Donostia-San Sebastian.
