WATCH: Ronald Araujo strikes in stoppage time as Barcelona lead

Barcelona have almost certainly sealed a late victory against Girona, having scored in the final minute of stoppage time at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic.

Hansi Flick was able to call upon the returning Lamine Yamal for this one, and 13 minutes in, he made an impact. His pass reached Pedri inside the penalty area, and after running away from goal, the midfielder reversed the ball into the far corner via the post.

But Barcelona’s lead lasted less than 10 minutes, as Girona equalised in spectacular fashion. Following a corner, the ball came back into the penalty area, and Axel Witsel was on hand to score via a bicycle kick.

Girona missed a number of key chances soon after, and in the end, they have been made to pay. In stoppage time at the end of the match, Frenkie de Jong’s cutback was turned home by makeshift striker Ronald Araujo, sparking jubilant scenes inside the stadium.
