Yamal Gets 8.5, Ter Stegen With 5.5 | Barcelona Players Rated In Tough Loss Vs Villarreal
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Barcelona entertained Villarreal at the Nou Camp earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a good result at home in La Liga. The Catalan club made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the fourth minute when Ayoze Perez found the back of the net. However, Lamine Yamal equalised for Barca in the 38th minute before Fermin Lopez put his team ahead in the first half injury-time. Hansi Flick’s men were leading 2-1 at the half-time break.

Santi Comesana equalised for the Yellow Submarine in the 50th minute before Tajon Buchanan scored the winning goal for them in the 80th minute. Barcelona ended up crashing to a tough 3-2 loss in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player fared during the clash against Villarreal.

GK: Marc-Andre ter Stegen – 5.5/10

The German keeper failed to make a save in the game and conceded three times this evening.

RB: Eric Garcia – 7.5/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

CB: Pau Cubarsi – 6.5/10

Cubarsi did his fair share of defending but it was not enough today.

CB: Inigo Martinez – 6/10

He cleared the danger when he could but failed to keep things solid at the back.

LB: Gerard Martin – 6.5/10

He caught the eye at times on the left flank but failed to make a difference in the final third.

CM: Gavi – 6/10

Gavi got stuck in with a few solid tackles but struggled to get into the flow of the game.

CM: Pedri – 7/10

He passed the ball well and managed to engineer a few key chances for others around him.

RW: Lamine Yamal – 8.5/10

Yamal was a constant menace in the final third and managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 38th minute.

CAM: Fermin Lopez – 7.5/10

He caused all sorts of problems for the Villarreal defenders and managed to score in the latter stages of the first half.

LW: Raphinha – 6.5/10

Raphinha proved his worth at times on the left wing but there was no goal for him this evening.

ST: Robert Lewandowski – 6.5/10

He was a real handful for the opposition centre-backs but failed to register a goal.

Substitutes:

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 6.5/10

He added some creativity to Flick’s midfield.

LB: Alejandro Balde – 6/10

Balde made one good run with the ball.

ST: Pau Victor – 6/10

His impact on the game was minimal.

CB: Hector Fort – 6/10

He made one good chance going forward.

CAM: Dani Olmo – N/A
