Barcelona faced off against Mallorca at the Mallorca Son Moix Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to secure maximum points in their La Liga season opener. The Catalan club made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the seventh minute when Raphinha found the back of the net. Ferran Torres doubled his side’s advantage in the 23rd minute. Manu Mornales was sent off by the referee in the 33rd minute before Vedat Muriqi was given his marching orders as well just six minutes later. Hansi Flick’s men went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.

Lamine Yamal got his name on the scoresheet in injury time as the Catalan club earned an impressive 3-0 win away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player fared during the clash against Mallorca.

GK: Joan Garcia – 7/10

He hardly had anything to do in the game and secured a comfortable clean sheet this evening.

RB: Eric Garcia – 7.5/10

Garcia performed his defensive duties well and made a few key chances going forward.

CB: Ronald Araujo – 7/10

He put his foot through the ball when required and won a couple of aerial duels.

CB: Pau Cubarsi – 7/10

Cubarsi kept things solid at the back and was a good presence on the ball.

CM: Pedri – 7.5/10

The Spaniard made a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third.

CM: Frenkie de Jong – 7/10

De Jong controlled the game well from midfield and made one decent chance in the opponent’s half.

RW: Lamine Yamal – 9.5/10

He caused all sorts of headaches for the Mallorca defenders and ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.

CAM: Fermin Lopez – 6.5/10

Lopez made one positive run with the ball but failed to register a goal.

LW: Raphinha – 8/10

He was a constant menace in the final third and did well to score early in the game.

ST: Ferran Torres – 7.5/10

Torres got his name on the scoresheet in the 23rd minute and was replaced after the hour mark.

Substitutes:

CAM: Dani Olmo – 7/10

He was not shy of having a strike at goal.

LB: Joffre Torrents – 6.5/10

Torrents was solid at the back.

LW: Marcus Rashford – 6/10

He made two key chances in the final third.

CM: Gavi – 7/10

Gavi came on and grabbed an assist.

RB: Jules Kounde – 6/10

His impact on the game was minimal.
